Horizontal Designer Radiators

The horizontal radiator is the one most people picture — a wide panel sitting under a window, quietly heating the room. Ours keep that familiar, practical shape but lose the dated look, giving you a clean modern panel that earns its place on the wall.

Every horizontal in our range is a standard 600mm high, which is deliberate: it's the height that tucks neatly under a typical window sill, and it usually means you can replace an old radiator without a plumber touching the pipework. Widths run from 748mm to 1593mm, in flat and oval panel styles, finished in anthracite or white.

    Why a Horizontal Radiator?

    It comes down to the wall. If you've got a clear run of width — under a window, along an empty wall — a horizontal radiator is the natural fit, and almost always the simplest swap. Because ours match the standard 600mm height of most existing radiators, replacing a tired old panel is usually a like-for-like job rather than a re-plumbing project.

    The only time a horizontal doesn't make sense is when you haven't got the width to spare — a narrow hallway, a wall crowded with cabinets or doors. In those spots a vertical radiator uses height instead and fits where a horizontal can't. Same heat, different footprint — it's purely a question of which shape your wall wants.

    Choosing the Width

    Width is where the heat comes from. A 748mm panel suits a compact bedroom or small kitchen; step up to 1156mm or beyond for a living room, and to the widest 1593mm for large or open-plan spaces. Rather than guess, it's worth taking two minutes to work out your room's BTU first, then picking a width that meets it — undersize and the room never quite warms up, oversize and you've paid for heat you'll only turn down.

    Flat or Oval, Anthracite or White

    Once the size is settled, the rest is looks. A flat panel gives you a smooth, minimal face that sits close to the wall and wipes clean easily — the quieter choice. An oval panel adds rounded tube detailing and a bit more texture, better when you want the radiator noticed rather than ignored.

    On colour, anthracite is the modern default — a deep grey that hides marks and sits well against darker walls and wood-tone kitchens — while white blends into lighter, more traditional rooms without drawing attention.
