Oval Designer Radiators

Why Choose an Oval Panel?

Mostly for how it looks — and there's no point pretending otherwise. The rounded tubes give an oval radiator a depth and texture that a smooth panel can't match, which matters when the radiator sits somewhere it'll genuinely be seen: a living room wall, a hallway you walk past a dozen times a day.

There's a small practical difference too. The curved surface gives slightly more surface area than a flat face of the same footprint, though in practice the difference in output is minor — choose oval because you prefer the look, not because you're chasing extra heat.

If you'd rather the radiator disappeared into the wall than stood out, the flat panel range gives you the same heat with a smoother, quieter face.

Vertical or Horizontal?

The oval detailing works either way round — which orientation you need comes down to your wall rather than the style.

A horizontal oval radiator sits at the standard 600mm height, tucking under a window sill and usually swapping straight into existing pipework. A vertical oval radiator uses height instead of width, which is what makes it work in a narrow hallway or a room where the walls are already spoken for. On a tall vertical especially, the oval tubes have room to show themselves.

Anthracite or White?

The texture actually shows up more clearly in anthracite — the deeper tone catches the shadow between each tube and makes the detailing visible from across the room. It also hides fingerprints and dust better, which matters on a shaped surface.

White softens that effect, giving you the same rounded profile in a lighter finish that blends with pale walls and traditional interiors rather than drawing the eye.

Getting the Size Right

Whichever oval radiator you're drawn to, size it to the room rather than the wall. Output depends on the panel's dimensions and whether it's single or double panel — and what your room actually needs depends on its volume, insulation and how much glass is in the walls.

Work out your BTU requirement before choosing a width, and you'll avoid both ways this goes wrong: a radiator that never quite warms the room, or one you paid over the odds for.
