Which Radiators Suit Chorley's Housing Stock?

Chorley has a strong mix of Victorian terraces near the town centre, 1960s–80s semis and detached homes around Astley Village and Clayton Brook, and newer developments toward Buckshaw Village. Older terraces with narrow walls generally suit a vertical radiator, since it uses height rather than width. Larger semis and detached homes with bigger rooms usually get more from a wide horizontal
double panel.

Choosing a Size for Your Chorley Home

As a rough guide: narrow hallways and terraced living rooms tend to suit an 1800mm vertical radiator; standard bedrooms often replace well with a 600 x 1156mm horizontal; larger lounges and open-plan spaces usually need a 600 x 1428mm double panel or larger for enough heat output.

Use our BTU calculator to check the right size for your specific room, or call us on 0333 772 3548 and we'll help you choose.

Anthracite or White for a Chorley Home?

Anthracite is the most requested finish for updated interiors and newer Buckshaw Village-style homes, since it hides marks well against grey or wood-tone kitchens. White remains the safer, more traditional choice for period terraces near the town centre where a lighter, more discreet radiator
suits the room better.
